Katie is a college sophomore at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. Her passions range from playing the guitar and singing to running and spending time outdoors to learning languages. Katie has developed a new interest for business after founding Joining Generations in 2016. She enjoys leading Joining Generations and as board chair she will work with those around her to develop Joining Generations and to bring its vision to life.
Hunt is the business owner ofHuntLeigh Care Homes in Frisco, Tx. He completed the launch from idea to profitable within 12 months. Currently, he has 12 full time employees that provide assisted living to seniors in the Frisco area. He has 30 years of experience for industry-leading companies such as Kellogg, Diageo, Nielsen and Infosys and he is also a certified Dementia practitioner. Community experiences include: 7 years on the Frisco Community Development Corporation and last 3 as President; 6 years on Frisco Parks and Recreation Board with last 2 as Chairman; Served on the Frisco Bond Election Committee in 2005, 2014 and 2018; 3 years on Frisco ISD Long Range Budget Committee; 3 years on the board for The Wellness Center for Older Adults in Plano; and 3 years on the board of the Senior Service Alliance (2016-present).
Scott has been a writer/designer since graduating from the School of Journalism at UNC-Chapel in 1987. Starting as a reporter for a local Charlotte newspaper, he transitioned to the production/design end of publications in the early 1990s when Apple Computer began to revolutionize desktop publishing (yes, he does remember when the LCII was considered to be a “groundbreaking piece of technology”). He’s been a writer, editor, production manager, creative director and photo editor for some of America’s most iconic sports titles, including On Track, NASCAR Scene, NASCAR Illustrated, The Sporting News and Street & Smith’s. He also is the owner of Greig Graphic Design LLC, whose clients have included Lowe’s Home Improvement, MASN (Mid-Atlantic Sports Network), The Baltimore Orioles MLB baseball franchise, Appalachian State University, Roush-Fenway Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, The NASCAR Foundation, Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Bridgewater Capital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western North Carolina.
L.B. is an accountant forBloomer and Showalter’s CPA’s. L.B. is also the past district governor 2008-2009 at Rotary District 5810 and has volunteered with Rotary for more than 50 years.
Kristy has worked with the senior population for almost 25 years. She currently works at Medical City Plano in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex as a Recreational Therapist on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. She has over 20 years of experience in a hospital/clinical setting. She has also worked in skilled nursing facilities and senior living facilities. The senior living facilities have included independent living, assisted living and memory care units. She has spent her career designing functional recreation and leisure activities for the senior population. She really enjoys spending time with the wonderful people that she gets to meet every day. She majored in Therapeutic Recreation at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and has kept her certification active for the last 20+ years. She enjoys travelling, exercising, painting and spending time with her husband and two children.
Dee left her human resource position in 2013 to pursue her mission of forming a home health-care business. Dee is the CEO of Our Family Friend. Their mission: To provide an exceptional home care experience for every client entrusted to our care.
Laya is a senior in high school who will be attending college to pursue her interest in computer science. She joined Joining Generations her freshman year in high school and has been a member since. She was the president of her high school chapter of Joining Generations her junior and senior year and enjoys leading her chapter at different events and fundraisers. As she grows in her position, she will work with other chapter leaders to prepare them for events and strengthen their leadership skills.
