Love- the force that moves the world. A simple act of showing how much you care for someone can change that person’s day more than imaginable, and no one shows their love more than on Valentine’s Day.
This Valentine’s, Joining Generations volunteers teamed up with residents to dip strawberries in chocolate. They then decorated the strawberries with white chocolate. The time it took to make these sweet treats allowed time to talk, and that sparked conversation about love.
One thing people forget about is that folks in these senior facilities don’t always have someone to spend the holiday with. By spending time with each other and talking, Joining Generations spreads a little love to every person- those who have family and those who often feel alone. And the thing about love is that it is kind of like glue- a little bit of it can go a long way and it always sticks to what it is attached to.
