It’s that time of year where people start chugging hot chocolate or eggnog while Michael Bublé’s voice fills the cold air. Although little to no snow can be found in the comparatively warmer air of Texas, Joining Generations has no problem contributing to a little holiday spirit! Wreaths were hung with love, lights were handled with joy, and Christmas trees were set up and decorated with great care. All of this hard work and genuine desire to spread holiday joy was done for not just one, but two facilities! Santa’s Elves better take notes from the Joining Generations volunteer crew as each volunteer strove to give the best of the holidays to each member in the old folks homes. But it wasn’t all work and no play. After generously giving their time to making the elderly community’s holiday season more festive, the volunteers all kicked back and enjoyed some warm hot chocolate while getting to know each other.
The holiday season is always filled with love, but as many people see others gathered around by loved ones it can also be an incredibly lonely time that causes an increasing amount of people to feel lost and alone. Being trapped in this darkness can be overwhelming, but it is imperative to know that no one is truly alone. Joining Generations has once again proven that no one should be left out, no one should feel as if they can not be found amidst any darkness they may feel. By going out into the world and spreading such a positive light for the community, they have proven that this holiday season is not one to feel alone, but rather the time to let the light shine on you so you can understand how truly loved and appreciated you are. ‘Tis the season to spread love, hope, and faith for a better world in which no one is alone.
